Be a quick study with the ability to apply online and hands-on training. About the Fitness Trainer Role As a Fitness Trainer, you will operate the Planet Fitness group fitness program (PE@PF). Responsibilities include: Creating a class schedule for members, including Orientation and DYOP (Develop your own program). Proactively engage with members on the club floor regarding their fitness goals; instruct them on how to safely use the equipment and provide support as needed. Help promote our Judgement Free Zone® by connecting with members on the club floor, offering assistance, and upholding club policies. Frequently perform a comprehensive walk of all fitness areas to ensure a great member experience and quickly address issues as they are identified. Perform prospective member calls and tours; assess membership needs and offer Trainer services. Daily Responsibilities Greet members/guests as they enter and exit the club; assist with questions or concerns during check-in. Answer phones in a friendly manner and assist callers with inquiries. Regular cleaning and sanitizing of all exercise equipment and Black Card spa amenities, including communal spaces and assigned areas. Ensure restrooms are clean, sanitized, stocked, and clutter-free by following the cleaning schedule. Compensation & Benefits The hourly pay range for this position is $18.00 to $19.50. Planet Fitness reserves the right to pay above or below the posted range based on factors unrelated to a person’s protected class. Comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance; short-term and long-term disability; term life insurance; 401(k); flexible spending accounts; vacation, sick, and holiday pay; and a free Black Card Membership. Some benefits are for full-time employees only. About Your Qualifications 6-12 months of experience in a customer service environment preferred. Must be 18 years of age or older. Willing to become CPR/AED Certified (training provided by Planet Fitness). Nationally Certified Training Certificate required. Basic computer proficiency. Physical Demands Continual standing and movement throughout the club during shift. Frequent communication in person or on the phone to exchange information during shift. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds. Will encounter toxic chemicals during shift. Frequent cleaning and sanitizing of equipment and facilities. Moving and bending/twisting to accomplish tasks. Health & Safety Every team member is responsible for contributing to a safe and healthy workplace by following policies, reporting unsafe conditions, and conducting work safely.
