Job Description

This role is responsible for moving, spotting and parking transportation fleet yard equipment in a safe and timely manner.

What Will I Do?

• Live our values, always help others and ensure Wegmans remains a great place to work for all
• Move, spot, stage and park transportation yard equipment including trailers, sea containers and generators
• Perform trip equipment inspections per Department of Transportation (DOT) and Wegmans compliance standards; monitor and complete temperature spot checks on refrigerated trailers
• Inform operations management of quality issues; maintain communication between departments, vendors, and distribution centers
• Utilize yard management system to maintain accurate information of inbound and outbound trailers
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment; ensure all sanitation and food safety guidelines are followed; assist in snow removal, cleaning, and sweeping of trailers per sanitation schedule; perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Experience at the customer service level
• Valid state driver's license and clean driving record
• Able to manage time effectively and work independently; detail oriented; problem solving skills; able to prioritize and organize workload
• Computer skills and systems aptitude

Preferred Qualifications

• CDL license
• Experience operating commercial tractor trailer equipment
