Job Description

HCA Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and skilled RN Weekends Adult Psych to join our behavioral health team within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will provide direct, patient-centered nursing care to adult patients in an inpatient psychiatric setting during weekend shifts, supporting individuals experiencing acute and chronic mental health conditions. You will conduct comprehensive assessments, monitor mental and physical status, administer medications—including psychotropic therapies—implement physician-ordered treatment plans, and collaborate closely with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to promote stabilization, safety, and recovery. Working within HCA Healthcare’s culture of compassion, teamwork, and learning, you will play a key role in de-escalating crises, performing suicide and self-harm risk assessments, implementing safety and observation protocols, and utilizing therapeutic communication to support patients and their families. You will document all care accurately and promptly in the electronic health record, participate in treatment planning and daily team rounds, educate patients and families on mental health conditions, medications, and coping strategies, and advocate for patient needs while upholding the highest standards of integrity, privacy, and regulatory compliance. As a weekend RN, you will help ensure continuity of high-quality care during off-peak hours, demonstrating strong clinical judgment, time management, and the ability to respond calmly and effectively in fast-paced and emotionally intense situations. HCA Healthcare offers opportunities for professional development, exposure to evidence-based psychiatric and behavioral health practices, and the chance to contribute meaningfully to mental health outcomes in the community. Full-time employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, which may include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement programs such as a 401(k), and access to ongoing training and career advancement within one of the nation’s leading healthcare organizations.
