As an RN Weekends Adult Psych with HCA Healthcare, you will provide direct, compassionate care to adult patients receiving inpatient psychiatric and behavioral health services. Working primarily on weekends, you will use your clinical expertise and therapeutic communication skills to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for adults experiencing a range of mental health conditions, including mood disorders, psychotic disorders, and co‑occurring medical or substance‑use issues. You will complete comprehensive mental status and suicide risk assessments, administer and monitor psychotropic and medical medications, respond to psychiatric crises, and use evidence‑based de‑escalation techniques to promote safety and stabilization for patients and staff. In this role, you will collaborate closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, therapists, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to develop and update treatment plans, set recovery‑oriented goals, and support safe discharge planning. You will provide education to patients and families on diagnoses, medications, coping strategies, and community resources, while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA, regulatory standards, and HCA Healthcare policies. Accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record, participation in treatment team meetings and hand‑offs, and consistent monitoring of vital signs and behavioral observations will be essential components of your practice.
