We are seeking a Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon for a high-priority locum assignment in Mason City, Iowa , covering two required date blocks in March and April . This is an excellent opportunity with strong clinical support, Level III trauma exposure, and Epic EMR.

March 13 @ 7:00 AM – March 24 @ 7:00 AM
April 23 @ 7:00 AM – April 28 @ 7:00 AM
Inpatient rounding on post-op patients
Inpatient & ED consults
OR coverage
24-hour orthopedic call with follow-up clinic on own patients
Trauma Level: III
Average Hospital Census: ~160 patients/day (mainly consults)
EMR: Epic
Physicians: 4
Advanced Practice Providers: 7
APP Supervision Required: Yes
Staffing Support:
1 nurse per provider
3 cast techs / 7 providers
3 receptionists / 7 providers
2 surgery schedulers / 7 providers
Exam Rooms: 2 exam rooms + 3 cast rooms per provider
Candidates must be comfortable performing:
Total hip, knee, and shoulder replacements
Hand, wrist, knee, shoulder, hip, ankle, and foot surgeries
Trauma injuries & fracture care
Sports medicine and general orthopedic disorders
Board Certified Orthopedic Surgery ONLY (Board Eligible not accepted)
Active Iowa license OR Active IMLC (LOQ required)
Clean malpractice & background
NPDB Self-Query (pulled within 30 days at submission)
Ability to cover both required date blocks
Full procedural competency as listed above
