Job Title: Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN)

Work Location: 5th Medical Group, ND194 Missile Avenue, Minot AFB, ND, 58705

Tentative Start Date: May 01, 2026

No. of FTEs Required: 2 FTE

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8-hour day shifts between 0730 and 1900. The primary shift will be 0730-1630. Uncompensated 60-minute lunch break.

(Normal duty hours are expected to align with the medical treatment facility clinic schedule. Specific hours will be determined by the Government based on mission requirements) Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing or Vocational Nursing program approved by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN).
  
  
• Experience: Minimum one year of clinical nursing experience within the last three years in a clinical or hospital setting.
  
  
• License/Certification:
• Current, unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license from any U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  
  
• Other Requirements: U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities:

• Serves as a Practical Nurse performing patient care and nursing administrative duties for outpatients in accordance with established policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines.
• Orients new patients to the clinic/hospital environment and assist with patient check-ins, admissions, discharges, and transfers as directed.
• Provides individualized patient teaching on appropriate topics to include preventative healthcare and health maintenance.
• Prepares and positions patients for diagnostic testing, examinations, treatments, and clinical procedures.
• Performs appropriate portions of medical examinations, treatment, diagnostic, and clinical procedures.
• Identifies and records patient problems and appropriately notifies provider/nursing team of observations.
• Prepares and administers medications in accordance with scope of practice and training.
• Recognizes and responds to emergencies and performs basic life support measures.
• Performs appropriate portions of physical examinations including age-appropriate physical measurements.
• Adheres to infection control procedures including use of personal protective equipment, disposal of waste, and aseptic techniques.
• Performs central sterile supply duties and ensures all equipment is properly assembled, operates, cleaned and stored at the end of each work shift.
• Ensure preventive maintenance and routine cleaning are performed as directed.
• Performs medical records reviews and applies appropriate protocols and guidelines to determine administrative or medical needs.
• Maintains patient medical records in electronic format as well as hard copy as required.
• Prepares and submits administrative reports.
• Participate in training and continuing education programs for new procedures, techniques, and equipment.
• Ensure a safe work environment and employee safe work habits, establishes and maintains appropriate, professional, interpersonal relationships with co-workers, families, peers, and other team members.
