Job Description Janitor / General Laborer
Location: Romulus, Michigan
Shift is 6am-230pm Pay $15.50
Primary Purpose & FunctionThe Janitor / General Laborer is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized facility while supporting general production and warehouse operations. This role ensures work areas meet cleanliness standards and assists with basic labor tasks to keep operations running efficiently.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain floors by sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming production and warehouse areas
- Collect and dispose of trash, scrap materials, and debris throughout the facility
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, breakrooms, and common areas
- Wipe down equipment, workstations, and high-touch surfaces
- Assist with basic general labor tasks such as moving materials, organizing inventory, and supporting production as needed
- Empty bins, including scrap or recycling containers, and maintain waste areas
- Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
- Support production teams during downtime or as directed by supervisors
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills & Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for 8-10 hours
- Ability to lift up to 30-50 lbs as needed
- Comfortable working in a warehouse/manufacturing environment
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Work Environment
- Industrial warehouse and production setting
- Exposure to dust, debris, and varying temperatures
- Fast-paced environment with frequent movement
Safety Equipment / PPE
- Steel-toe boots required
- Gloves and other PPE as needed
- Safety glasses and high-visibility gear (if required by department)
