Responsibilities - Follow established performance standards and performs duties according to nursing service policies and procedures.
- Identify special resident problems and report them immediately to the HUC
- Provide direct resident care as assigned, completing assignments accurately and in a timely manner.
- Identify safety hazards and emergency situations and initiates corrective action immediately.
- Provide nursing care to residents without violating residents' rights.
- Participate in facility education programs as assigned.
- Attend all classes as assigned and complete assignments accurately and timely.
- Accurately document incidents and/or unusual problems according to established facility procedures.
- Participate in the development of an individualized plan of resident care for assigned residents.
- Review care plan daily and performs nursing assistant tasks as outlined.
- Document in the electronic medical record throughout shift of duty regarding care and treatment provided to the resident and the residents' response or lack of response to care provided
- Listen to resident and family complaints attentively and reports problems to HUC promptly.
- Answer call lights promptly.
- Serve breakfast /lunch trays and assists with residents with eating per the plan of care. Take residents to dining room and assist with feeding assigned residents.
- Change and/or toilet residents in accordance with their care plan and chart in the electronic medical record within each occurrence.
- Complete baths/showers as assigned.
- Complete/assist residents with oral care and hygiene tasks daily.
- Frequently turn and reposition all residents as noted in the plan of care
- Place bedpans, linen, washbasins, and soiled linen in proper area.
- Walk ambulatory residents and reports concerns to HUC.
- Assures residents have fresh water and encourage liquids for all residents unable to take water unassisted.
- Assist residents to activities of their choice and as designated by care-plan.
- Prepare residents for travel outside of the facility for family outings and medical/dental appointments as per the scheduled time.
Requirements Required Qualifications (Certificates and Licenses) - High School Diploma or General Education Degree
- Active Washington State Nursing Assistant Certification or Home Care Aide License
- CPR (can get on hire)
