Electrical Designer

Position Overview

We are seeking an Electrical Designer to support the design and documentation of building electrical systems for institutional, commercial, and specialized facilities. This role is production-focused, with an emphasis on Revit-based electrical design, coordination, and constructable documentation.

You will work closely with licensed engineers and cross-disciplinary teams to translate engineering concepts into high-quality construction documents, supporting projects from schematic design through construction.

Key Responsibilities

Produce electrical construction documents including:

• Power distribution
• Lighting and lighting controls
• Emergency and egress lighting
• Panel schedules and one-line diagrams
• Fire alarm and low-voltage system layouts

Develop and maintain Revit (BIM) models and AutoCAD drawings in accordance with project standards

Lay out equipment, feeders, branch circuits, conduit, and raceway systems

Coordinate designs with architectural, structural, mechanical, and plumbing teams

Implement engineer markups, QA/QC comments, and code requirements

Support all design phases including schematic design, design development, and construction documents

Assist with construction administration tasks such as responding to RFIs and reviewing submittals (experience dependent)

Qualifications

Experience working as an Electrical Designer in an AEC or MEP consulting environment

Strong proficiency in Revit (electrical); AutoCAD experience also required

Working knowledge of:

• Commercial and institutional electrical systems
• NEC fundamentals and general code compliance
• Lighting layouts, power distribution, and basic low-voltage systems

Experience with K-12, higher education, office, or religious facilities strongly preferred

Data center or mission-critical experience is a plus, not required

Education and Credentials

Associate degree, bachelor degree, or equivalent industry experience

EIT certification is a plus, but not required for Designer candidates

Interest in long-term growth within an MEP consulting environment preferred
