SPM Oil & Gas, a Caterpillar Company, is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to join our finance team. In the role, you will be responsible for planning, analyzing, and reporting on cost structures, providing insights that support strategic decision-making and enhance operational efficiency.

What You Will Do:

• Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular cost reports
• Maintain and update standard costs and ensure accuracy in the ERP system
• Conduct variance analysis and report findings
• Assist with budget preparation and forecasting related to production costs
• Work closely with operations and supply chain teams to understand cost drivers
• Support audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards
• Recommend cost reduction strategies and efficiency improvements

What Skills & Experiences You Will Need:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
• Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
• Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
• Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
• Accounting: Knowledge of accounting methods, processes, and tools; ability to maintain and prepare financial statements and reports using accounting methods and processes.
• Financial Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.
• Financial Reporting: Knowledge of processes, methods, and tools of financial reporting; ability to create and maintain accurate and thorough financial reports.

• Located in Fort Worth, Texas
• This position currently requires 5 days a week in office
• Domestic relocation assistance is available for those who qualify.

• International and Domestic travel up to 5%.

Summary Pay Range: $95,640.00 - $143,520.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
