SYSTEMTEC is seeking a
Cisco Network Engineer for an onsite opportunity in the Columbia, SC area. (Candidates MUST be SC, NC, or GA residents and/or willing to relocate within 40 miles of the Columbia, SC area). The candidate will provide advanced support for a large-scale enterprise network, serving as a senior technical resource for a Network Operations team. The candidate will take ownership of complex networking issues, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability across a multi-technology environment.
Required Qualifications of the Cisco Network Engineer: - Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to provide sponsorship or work with Third-Party agencies.
- 10+ years of hands-on experience with Cisco firewalls, routers, switches, and VPN technologies
- 10+ years of experience administering Cisco network environments in an enterprise setting
- 5+ years of experience with Palo Alto firewalls
- 5+ years of experience with Palo Alto XDR (Extended Detection and Response)
- Strong expertise in network configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex routing and switching issues
- Experience supporting voice-integrated network infrastructures
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Preferred Skills / Experience of the Cisco Network Engineer: - Extensive experience with network monitoring, tracing, and performance tuning tools
- Deep knowledge of core network architecture and design best practices
- Advanced troubleshooting experience across large-scale network environments
- Experience supporting wireless networks
- Exposure to hybrid cloud infrastructure environments
- Familiarity with technologies such as Cisco/Meraki, Fortinet/FortiGate, Citrix NetScaler, Certes, or Trellix
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA and/or CCNP
Responsibilities of the Cisco Network Engineer: - Configure, implement, maintain, and upgrade network infrastructure components
- Monitor network performance and proactively address issues to ensure uptime and efficiency
- Troubleshoot and resolve network incidents, outages, and performance bottlenecks
- Design and support secure, scalable network solutions aligned with organizational standards
- Maintain accurate network documentation, including diagrams and configurations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing
Work Location: Onsite in the Columbia, SC area. Candidates MUST be SC, NC, or GA residents and willing to relocate within 40 miles of the Columbia, SC area prior to starting this role.
