Job Description: Cisco Network Engineer with Wireless Experience


The Cisco Network Engineer with Wireless Experience is responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining Cisco-based network solutions with a focus on wireless technologies. This role involves ensuring the reliability, security, and optimal performance of wired and wireless network infrastructures. The engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement and troubleshoot complex network environments and supports projects that enhance network capabilities.


Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain Cisco network solutions, including routers, switches, and wireless controllers.
• Configure and manage wireless access points (WAPs) to ensure optimal coverage and performance.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting for network connectivity, performance, and wireless interference issues.
• Conduct wireless site surveys and RF analysis to optimize wireless networks.
• Implement security protocols and policies for wireless networks, including WPA3, VLANs, and firewalls.
• Monitor network performance using tools like Cisco Prime, DNA Center, or similar platforms.
• Provide technical support for network and wireless infrastructure, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Collaborate with teams to implement network upgrades, expansions, and security enhancements.
• Document network designs, configurations, and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of Cisco networking, including routing (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and switching (VLANs, STP, QoS).
• Proficiency in wireless technologies, including 802.11 standards, RF fundamentals, and WLAN design.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco wireless solutions (e.g., Meraki, Catalyst, AireOS).
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP (Enterprise or Wireless), or CWNA (preferred).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., Wireshark, Ekahau, NetFlow).
