Choral Director

Wenatchee High School

1.0 FTE, Continuing Contract

Beginning the 2026-2027 School Year

DESCRIPTION: Provide instruction for choral groups in regular classroom setting. Lead special choral performances for school program, community activities, concerts, and festivals. Model vocal technique, scales, rhythms, and sight singing. Conducts group rehearsals and instructs and coaches students in their individual parts, in fundamentals of musicianship, full group choir and ensemble performances. Report pupil progress to parents; support programs and building/district in-service education programs; attend meetings and conferences as required. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS : Possess a valid Washington state teaching certificate with a music/choral endorsement. Possess a music major. Strong vocal technique and music theory skills. Proven successful experience directing choral groups, ensembles and individuals. 5 or more years of appropriate experience preferred. Commitment to inclusion of diverse population. Commitment to Professional Learning Communities' principles. Or, such alternatives to the above qualifications as the District may find appropriate and acceptable. May require prolonged sitting or standing. Attendance and punctuality are important functions of this job.

SCHEDULE: OPEN UNTIL FILLED

BENEFITS: Health insurance benefits for employees working 630 hours or more per year include medical, dental, vision, life and long term disability plans through the School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB). Retirement benefits are provided through the WA State Department of Retirement Systems (DRS).

Professional growth reimbursement, $1000/year for qualified expenses.

Paid leave benefits include 12 days of sick leave and 3 personal leave days.
