We are seeking several Full Time Cabling Installation Technicians to install, run, repair, terminate, and troubleshoot cabling systems like Cat 5E, Cat 6, 6A, Fiber Optic, and coax cabling supporting a variety of customers from commercial, industrial customers to hospitals, government buildings, to municipalities, businesses, facilities, and schools. Seeking experienced, well-organized, and take charge type of people to perform cabling installation and service of Cat 5E, Cat 6, 6A, Fiber Optic, AV and coax cabling. Individuals should be mechanically inclined, organized, and have good communication & troubleshooting skills with experience in field installations.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for timely, on-budget installations of projects.
  
• Perform closet build-outs, cabling installation, terminations, testing, and certifications.
  
• Complete fiber and coax cable/CATV terminations, OTDR, using fiber and cable testing equipment.
  
• Complete daily assignments and work orders as scheduled in a professional manner.
  
• Installation of Cat 5E, Cat 6, 6A, Fiber Optic, AV, and coax cabling with good troubleshooting skills.
  
• Use SLM (signal level meter), basic coax cable tester, and handheld TDR to locate faults or damaged coax/CATV lines.
• Test and certify, Fiber lines using test equipment (optical power meters, light source, OLTS, OTDR "Optical Time Domain Reflectometer"), visual fault locator, and fiber inspection microscopes, and make necessary repairs
• Use cable tester, Test and certify coax/CATV electrical RF, TDR, SLM, spectrum/VNA, and find signal leaks, to be FCC compliant.
• Use DOCSIS Meter / Cable Analyzer to check modem levels, signal quality, and network health and check for attenuation, interference, or bad connectors.
  

Requirements

• Must have a minimum of 2+ years’ experience in the installation of Cat 5E, Cat 6, 6A, Fiber Optic, and coax cabling with good troubleshooting skills.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, a good driving record.
• Must have a High School Diploma, or GED.
• Must have a good understanding of work orders, products, and blueprints to determine service and repair of all cabling systems.
• Have an understanding of how to test and certify with proper test equipment and make necessary repairs, if needed.
• Must have good troubleshooting, diagnostic skills and ability to solve system problems and failures.
• Must ensure work is in accordance with applicable codes and standard practices.
• Able to work well with others in a team atmosphere.
• Willing to travel.
• Willing to work outside or inside in all weather when needed.
• OSHA 10 certification is a plus.
• Scissor and Boom Lift certifications are a plus.
