Job Title: Cabinet Maker

Job Description

This role focuses on building high-quality store fixtures, displays for high-end retail environments, and architectural millwork for casinos and other hospitality and gaming facilities. You will use your cabinet making expertise, attention to detail, and ability to read blueprints to produce precise, durable, and visually appealing products in a professional woodworking shop.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints and drawings to determine required parts, materials, and assembly requirements.
  • Assemble cabinets, store fixtures, and architectural millwork to exact specifications for high-end retail, hospitality, and gaming environments.
  • Operate stationary woodworking equipment such as table saws, band saws, routers, and other shop machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Use portable power tools and hand tools to cut, shape, fit, and finish wood components.
  • Measure and mark materials accurately using tape measures and other measuring tools to ensure precise cuts and fits.
  • Inspect components and finished products for quality, accuracy, and adherence to design specifications.
  • Lift, move, and handle materials and products weighing up to 50 lbs as part of daily tasks.
  • Perform special projects and custom builds as required, adapting to unique designs and client needs.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and contribute to a safe shop environment.
  • Demonstrate reliability by consistently meeting deadlines, following instructions, and completing assigned tasks.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate work and resolve issues.
  • Promote a high level of professionalism and ethics in all interactions and work practices.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience in cabinet making, cabinetry, or similar woodworking roles.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine parts, dimensions, and assembly requirements.
  • Proficiency with stationary woodworking equipment, including table saws, band saws, routers, and related machinery.
  • Skilled use of portable power tools and hand tools for cutting, shaping, and assembling wood components.
  • Strong measuring skills, including accurate use of tape measures and other measuring tools.
  • Ability to lift and handle materials and products up to 50 lbs as part of regular duties.
  • Demonstrated reliability and strong work ethic in a production or shop environment.
  • Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of professionalism and ethics.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Forklift experience is a plus.
  • Metal fabrication experience is a bonus.
  • Experience in construction or related trades is beneficial.
  • Experience working on high-end products, fixtures, or architectural millwork is an asset.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
